[Advice] Is iPhone cheaper in CA or NY?
next week I will be travelling to the US and in particular to nyc and norcal.
I wanted to buy a couple iphones to bring back to europe but I was wondering which state had the lowest sales tax.
I purchased my iphone in ohio last year and it was about $425 and apparently that's one of the "cheaper" states.
where should I get the iphones now, in CA or NY?
thanks for your help

California has a statewide sales tax of 7.25, sometimes local supplementary taxes are allowed up to 8.75%
New York has a 4% state sales tax. All counties and some cities within NY add local taxes ranging from 3% to 5.5%.
I would guess California is cheapest, but i don't think you will save shitloads of cash tbh.

if taxes are less in New York then why would you buy in California?
iPhone "2G" - 3.1.3 - Jailbroken + iPhoDroid
iPhone 4 - 4.0.2 - Not jailbroken (yet)

With Apple stores out of stock like every other day, buy it wherever you see it in stock... Saving a couple bucks is just not worth it...

Wherever you plan to buy it, you should phone ahead. There are alot of apple stores that are out of stock. AT&T stores has them but you need to sign a 2 year contract.

indeed you are right.
I checked out several stores in the bay area (palo alto, san jose and SF) but no luck.
I still have to go at apple HQ in cupertino and I really hope to find some
