[Advice] [Firmware 2.0] what will it look like in settings

Hi

I have been talking to someone local to me that has said he will have unlocked 3G iphones for sale on the 11th July, I have argued the fact that i thought that this was not possible but he reckons he has a solution and i can pick up and pay in cash to prove it. Now what i was wondering was is it possible he has downgraded the firmware from the gold final version 2.0 to a late beta version to make it work. and if he has what will it show under settings/general/about - will it say 2.0 or will it show as something else like one of the beta ones.

the 2.0 beta has been unlocked but 2.0 official release has not even been seen . there are rumors that there is a new baseband or new bootloader (one of the two or mayb both cant remember).The new BL has not been unlocked since no one knows what it is and no exploits are found (since no one has played around with it). Thus in my opinion this guy has 2.0 betas and cannot have 3G iphone ready on july 11th as its only 3 per customer (mayb even 1 on july 11th) and the iphone 3g has some new hardware so the 2.0 unlock if possible will only be possible on a 2G and will take more time on the 3G.

You can check it out on july 11 and since u pay in cash u have no comitments to buy, but im sure this is not the real deal. . . . but thats my opinion

I guess thats just bull... at best. If i were you I'd first check here in the Forum on and after July 11. If there would be any solution around in the world, you'd read reports here first.
Not much to add to lordofdaflies. I would be really careful.

Thanks for your comments, i agree with them totally but thought it worth a second opinion, Think i'll just wait and upgrade my current iphone with the new firmware when it's hacked.

That's what the forum is for, besides other. I'll do the same btw. I'll wait and see. Once the dust from upcoming July 11th drops, we all will know a lot more.
