Default [Advice] Error 1604 : any solution ?

    Hi every1

I need your help, my French countrymen being unable to help me fixing this problem. I bought for a ciraget pack a "locked" iPhone, the guy telling me that he tried everything to fix it without success. The problem is that it's simply impossible to do anything with it.

I entered in DFU manually (pressing Home&Sleep while the iPhone is on, and released Sleep 3 seconds after it turned off), iTunes told me to do a restore, and with every single firmware I have (1.0.2, 1.1.1, 1.1.2, 1.1.3, 1.1.4), iTunes can't even begin the restore, "Waiting for iPhone" and Error 1604 occuring.

Can't do anything with ZiPhone either, because it wants me to do a restore with iTunes first.

Seems like I lost a pack of cigarets ^.^ Except if you have ideas

    (Sorry for my poor english).

Thx for trying to help, but it does not solve the problem

Even ZiPhone 2.6b, and the Check Ram system does not work. Seems like the com card is dead

Not entirely sure if I had the 1604 error, but I definately had a problem with itunes not even beginning the restore process. What I did, if memory serves was to use iphone-tools1.1.4a to downgrade to BL3.9FB, erase, then reflash baseband, then upgrade to BL4.6 and restore to FW1.1.4

Not sure if this will help, but it's worth a try, that is of course if it is BL4.6 to begin with, if not it's worth trying to erase and reflash baseband, then restore anyway.

EDIT: if you're on BL3.9FB then DO NOT try to restore to an earlier FW, again if memory serves, you could end up with BL3.8

your correct 3.8bl is a basterdchild created by using 1.0.0 or 1.1.1 on a 3.9fb iPhone

DFU Mode; Restore to 1.1.4; Use iPlus.

if it doesnt work then try, try and try again.

iPhone can be tricky when it wants.

You have tried a different computer I hope? As itunes can sometimes not want to work at all even when it has in the past!
