    Default [Advice] Did apple shoot themselves in the foot ?

    In the case of the ipod touches??
    since the iphone will cost 199 and the ipod touch is still 299 for 8gb
    who would buy an ipod touch?? they would need to lower it to like 100 bucks... doesnt make sense

    an iphone is going to BE $199... how much is an ipod nano etc... have no idea how they will change the prices

    the new iphone will require in-store (apple or AT&T store) activation, so you won't be able to buy it and activate at home through itunes. AT&T has already said it won't be sold online without a plan. The Apple site says purchase through retail locations as well.

    yes so if that plan works for apple and AT&T then it would make sense...
    but i am sure there will be a hole somewhere someone will find... since I think majority of people will not want to sign or already have a contract

    Make's sense cuz it's $199, but the carrier is paying Apple in form of subsidy another $199. No more sharing of monthly contracts, but still getting more than the sticker price. They may fall in price, so that the 8GB is $199, 16GB $249 and 32GB $399 or $349 or whatever.
