    • I've been told that 1.1.2 overclocks* the CPU so everything is faster and smoother.
    • It adds official support for internationalization (keyboards, language packs, dictionaries)

    * actually CPU is underclocked from 600MHz to 400MHz, so 1.1.2 "restores" 414MHz

But no, it's not enough for me to upgrade before Dev Team finds the real solution. And no, anySIM 1.2u is not an option! I'm sure ppl will have problems with this approac.
8GB iPhone OTB 1.0.2, virginized and upgraded to 1.1.1. Updated to 1.1.2 + anySIM1.2.1u // Poland, Carrier: PlusGSM
Phone I/O. Check. YouTube. Check. Mail, Safari, Widgets. Check.
3rd Party Apps. Check. WiFi, EDGE, SSH. Check.

in regards to overclocking...wont this mean that the battery life is reduced?

Not true, It just as fast as the previous firmwares and crashes just as much.

I don't know what that all means but if you say so......

That's why I said that I had been told that. I just don't know - I don't have 1.1.2 and I don't plan having right now. But it seems resonable because PSP also had its CPU underclocked from 600MHz to 400 to save battery life.

And your performance and crashes are the same probably because you did this gimmick with "upgrading to 1.1.2". Also - anySIM 1.0.2 and 1.1 is ok. But this "new" anySim 1.2u isn't from Dev Team.

I say let's just wait for Dev Team – they always had the best solutions (anyone remember virginizing from Elite Team being 100 lines of code, whereas Dev Team provided 10?)

For those up in the great white north, land of igloos and with Rogers the upgrade is invaluable due to the voice mail notification issues with 1.1.1. Although I haven't upgraded yet so it can be that invaluable.

Wish apple could make an issue free version. Guess there too busy combating us. :p
8g 1.0 OTB HW-Unlocked (took it apart) on Rogers, take that Ted!
