I was at the Apple store today, and they told me at&t's system would be down tonight for maintenance.

Well my iPhone sorta tanked this week...... I had been using it like crazy since I got it on June 29, however this week I ran into an issue of not being able to hear people via the headset speaker, I would have to switch everybody calling to speakerphone in order for me to have a conversation with them.

The funny part is that the microphone didn't work either, but when I would switch over to speaker everything worked fine. I took it back to the Apple store and had someone look at it. They couldn't figure out what was wrong with it so they just gave me a new one. What caught me off guard was that the replacement phone they give me didn't have a full charge (refurb?) so I had to come home and charge it. The Apple employee did swap out the SIM cards however the phone still said that I had to activate it.

Worst part is that like the topic says iPhone activation is down until 3 EST.

So my iPhone had small deep scratches at the sim slot when i first opened it. Seems as if someone had previously tried to pry open the slot with a blade. Made me think that was a refurbished unit. Took it back to Apple and they exchanged it. Anyone had similar experience?

I have the same problem today - is it still down?



And by the way...I have always cancel the activation when I connect my iPhone to iTunes. Is there any way to stop this?

Do you think they're doing something about people fudging the SSN etc to get onto pick your plan? Hope they're not doing anything too drastic as I'm about ready to get mine.

I figured out that if you take the sim-card out it will sync perfect!
