Default Which 3rd party apps make the iPhone sluggish?

Like most of you, I've installed every program from installer.app that sounds cool to me. Games, flashcards, wallpapers, you know what I'm talking about. I'm concerned that some of the less-well-designed programs may, in fact, be bad for my phone. I'm concerned that they hog resources, waste battery life, etc.

I know I'm not the only person to notice that now my phone works a bit slower, and seems less reliable. I've counted about 10 times it's locked up on me now, for no apparent reason, and needed to be rebooted. Each and every time is frustrating.

So my question is this: Which of the programs we use are problematic?

Has anyone noticed that a particular program hogs resources, and should be avoided? I'd really like to know which of the dozen programs that I've installed is the problem, because reverting back to stock form is not an option that I want to have to use!!!

I'm not sure the answer (obviously, that's why I ask), but I'll start by saying that the first time my phone ever locked was immediately after installing and trying to use Navison GPS. I'm also suspicious of summerboard, but I'm not sure.

    Anyone else have ideas?

i only have 3 or 4 apps installed at any given time. always remove stuff i don't think i'll care about. i also crashed with the gprs thing, when i told it to search and got the popup saying "can't find your position", i had to reset to get out of the program.

i generally haven't had many problems, but i swear i've crashed or locked up a bit more often since installing the bsd subsystem. honestly i have no idea how that works under the hood. if it's something always running, or just a library of functions only in use when other programs try to use them.

i'm not using anything that requires it anymore and would love to remove it, but you can't just uninstall it from installer. would a restore get rid of it?

Good question. To be honest, I only have it because it was part of the process involved with the walkthrough I used to software unlock my phone back in the pre-GUI hours.

So it sounds like Navison is definitely a bad thing for now. So would removing the BSD subsystem (however that would be done) help improve reliability?

If I go in a bar and lose signal then summer board crashes and I'm left with a black screen and need to reboot. Thats pretty annoying!
