Just joined after trying to find a good forum for help and updates etc... I've had my 3G for a while now and I'm having a nightmare at the moment....

I bought it 2nd hand unlocked and Jailbroken with 4.0 loaded, worked like a dog as we all know.. wanted to downgrade to 3.1.3 to help things speed up...
Hooked up to Itunes and ran a Redsnow version of code and now its stuck at connect to Itunes prompt and insert supported simm. i've tried Recboot but it sends my pc screwey from wherever i get it from...

So in essence its a brick and ready for the bin unless one of you kind people can help me....
Just want to get it up and running again and then its being sold....

Put the iPhone into DFU mode again - http://www.hackint0sh.org/f137/54082.htm

shift-click Restore with 3.1.3 IPSW downloaded from here http://www.hackint0sh.org/f127/22056.htm

The Firmware Umbrella can kick an iPhone out of recovery and is the recommended utility for this.

Make sure you have a SIM card inserted, use redsn0w 0.9.2 and a 3.1.2 IPSW to jailbreak again after downgrade redsn0w 0.9.2 [iPhone Dev Team]

Don't use newer versions of redsn0w or download these tools from unofficial links.

Then finally install ultrasn0w from cydia iClarified - iPhone - How to Unlock the iPhone 4, 3GS, 3G Using UltraSn0w

Many thanks Olethros... Hit a snag... When i did the first restore to 3.1.3 i get the error 1015 ocurred and quits....

Om to add to that I used redsnow on 3.1.2 and installed... its now stuck on the apple logo on the screen and nothing else... AAARRRGGGHHHH

1015 is 100% normal - everything worked okay, this error just means you can't downgrade baseband (apple's security model prevents baseband downgrade)

Use TinyUmbrella to exit recovery mode. You can possibly even skip this step and go straight to DFU mode and use redsn0w.

Redsn0w has worked for many people. Did you put the phone into DFU mode as required? More details please.
