3G iPhone 16 GB To Be Announced on Tuesday in London
The Apple event in London on Tuesday will 'more than likely' reveal the 3G version of iPhone for launch in the UK.
"It's widely believed that the device which appears next week for the European market will offer higher memory capacity (16GB, just like the touch) and 3G support".

They will never announce such a thing in such a small venue as the Apple store in London. The event will likely be related to the Beatles.

If they dont do it, it wont sell. No-one will accept anything less than 3G.

Well the 'informed' press dont seem to think so. The title of the invite is 'Mums No Longer The Word'
Apple Store Regent Street, London is a flagship Apple Store.
So I guess the flood of 8GB iPhones will hit Ebay on Weds !! Glad I got out early !!! (sold mine)....

that is such BS.
one thing i have noticed since getting my iphone, is how quick people are to point out to me that it is not 3G.....but then when i ask them if THIER handset is, most of them say no. And for the few that actually do have 3G handsets....none of them use it anyways.
I had a nokia 6280 3G and 'could' do video calls, but handset to handset it was pathetic, unusable.
then got an N80 and NEVER used the 3G capabilities once.
FFS, lets me honest with ourselves here...it only takes about 2 - 3 seconds to check for a new email header, and just as long to send a 200 byte text based email.

You say flagship, but it really is not a super venue for a launch as big as iPhone for Europe + new 16GB and 3G.
Thats not to say it won't be though.
Also even if it is I dont believe people will sell their 8GB versions. For starters the new devices will not be availiable till atleast November as O2 will want to have a few months of marketing (hype) before the UK launch adn when the phone is released it will probably have a new firmware version and possible hardware constraints which will put alot of hackers off.

Mum's the word
Meaning: Keep quiet - say nothing.... first hit in google.
