*3001#12345#* to check Firmware Version not working -> can't jailbreak?
Well, i've got a problem.
I'm no total noob at jailbreaking. I jailbreaked my 3GS and did a lot of research before doing it.
Now i got a second Iphone (2G), given to me to "fix" it! They put in a random SIM card and just plugged it into their PC and tried to activate it in Itunes.
It tells them that the current SIM card is not supported and that they should put in a SIM Card with no SIM code.
My approach was simply to jailbreak and unlock it, to make the "random" SIM work. Therefore i need to know the firmware version installed. I cant guess, and the people don't know if the iphone firmware has been previously updated.
So, checking the Numbers on the back to get the version is out of the window.
Additionally there is no way to check the version in Itunes, because Itunes just keeps telling me that the SIM card is not valid.
I tried to use: *3001#12345#* Call , but there is no response.
(Iphone is in the "emergency call + "USB cable -> Itunes" image" mode.)
Is there any other way to get to know the firmware version? Or is there even a "click and be happy" solution for my problem?
Thanks for your help in succession.
(and sorry for my bad english)
put it in DFU mode and just restore it to any firmware that you want, that way you can jailbreak it the way you know how, it wont change the status of whether you can unlock it since the 2g baseband stopped getting updated a long time ago
Get the latest info for NoAccSplash Here
Currently it should work on iOS 4.x - 6.x
If you'd like to help extend its functionality, the source is also available.
