2g iPhone wont restore!
i have a problem with my US iPhone. It is at least a year old and has been working perfectly until now.
the issue is that it will not restore! it was running fine on 2.1 but during an update to 2.2 my iPhone has been bust.
i have tried to update/restore a bunch of time, various different firmwares, 3 different computers but all i get is ERROR 23 or ERROR 1011.
sometimes it just gives the error at the start of the restore proces but sometimes it prepares, restores, verifies but then goes through the complete loop again and then gives me the error.
i am starting to believe there is a hardware fault as it just wont accept the restore but could hardware break during an update? as this was a perfect iphone before this update!
i have experience with iphones, have unlocked a few and never had this sort of problem before.
someone please help restore my iphone as my nokia SUCKS!
thanks in advance!
am sorry, but plz someone correct me if am wrong. I think that error 1011 has something to do with corrupt bootloader files.
Did u try a DFU restore?
yes i tried DFU and force recovery...tried winpwn 2.5 aswell.

so far i don't think so but am not sure, my experience with such things and erorrs is very weak all my knowledge on these eroors are from this forum, maybe am wrong maybe its the baseband. Anyway try running ieraser (kiphone) maybe that will help.
P.S there are older posts about the cursed 1011 error in this very forum try reading them maybe they will help. Also it makes no harm if u tried a different computer, USB cable, USB port reinstalling itunes downgrading itunes and DFU restoring to 1.1.4
I sure do hope my predictions are wrong cause if ur problem is in the bootloader/baseband then ur in the DEEP RED ZONE

1011 and 1604 are kinda the same in saying theres a connection problem with itunes... ie: usb drivers are messed up, the port is bad, or some other reason
i say try restoring on a different computer with a fresh version of itunes on it
(ps... i kinda just noticed this but back in the day when we first used DFU mode the iphone would fail and go into recovery mode and ibrickr had to be used to boot it the right way with the red or green screen... how come we dont see that no more?)
