2G iPhone crashing-- unrecoverable until battery runs out, camera not working,
Please help! My 2G iPhone isn't well.
When it had the 2.1 firmware on it, the camera app decided it couldn't take photos as there wasn't any space-- despite it continuing to do this on a freshly wiped iPhone with nothing on it!
Now, on FW 2.2 (restored on a PC (won't work on a mac) QuickPWN'd on OSX on an intel mac mini) the camera app crashes the iPhone-- sometimes forcing a reboot, sometimes crashing it for 2 days to a black screen, until the battery runs out (where I can then restore it).
Thing is, the iPhone does the crash thing at random. When it sleeps; in Safari. I can get by without the camera... but this phone's a brick at the moment.
Is there anything I can do, or am I going to have an awkward conversation at the Apple Store where I'll try to avoid telling them, Actually, I never signed up to that expensive contract... and be told to leave? Many thanks!

try reinstalling itunes on your pc and then DFU restore to 2.2 and jailbreak with quickpwn again and that might help
-or-
hop between a few FWs to ensure that the iphone has been wiped the right way. ie: DFU to 1.1.1 - DFU to 1.1.3 - DFU to 2.2
do some repeatative restoring to make sure itunes sets it up right

Heh, will need to borrow a work PC
or dig outa USB 2.0 hub.
Rather stupidly, I updated to OSX 10.5.6 today, then only afterwards did I find out about the DFU mode nonsense!
Thanks. will give it a shot and report back.
