I have a 1.14 jailbroke phone with PAYG sim

Restored the phone back to factory 1.14 using itunes 7.7

After back to factory 1.14 I then entered my apple id for my itunes account.

The phone then sprung into life, then iTunes asked me to update to 2.0

Downloaded and installed 2.0 and after 2.0 install the phone again sprung into life and said 'Waiting for Activation could be upto 15 mins',

My signal is not to good in my house, so I moved to a location where i know i can get a singal, and within 2 seconds of getting an o2 signal the phone said 'Iphone is activated'

So i now have a 2.0 with PAYG and no jailbroke no patches, just a fully working iphone - and before anyone asks, yes i can make and recieve calls and yes i can sms! - everything just works much faster!

this wont work if you have an at and t phone in the uk with o2

I read in the O2 help pages that any O2 original iphone can be updated to 2.0 and activated as O2 PATG, think they want people already using O2 to be legal.

So I decided to give it a go and have a legal O2 PAYG (I am sure you could also use a O2 PAYG sim to activate then use any O2 contract sim as well!)

1) I updated my jailbroken 1.1.4 original iphone to O2 yesterday to v 2.0 and activated with iTunes without a problem, by just agreeing T&Cs and entering Apple ID.

2) I effectively registered with O2 on their website, they say its to turn on MMS notifications but I reckon its mainly so they know how many original iPhones they'll have on PAYG

3) Then changed the APN in Network settings to payandgo.o2.co.uk so that EDGE works (yay)

4) Finally I added the unlimited Web and WiFi bolt-on for PAYG original iPhone.

All working perfectly so far...

30 mins later: Yeah baby, Super Monkey Ball!!!
60 mins later: Email not working on 2.0
120 mins later: Restoring contacts etc seems to be causing the email to stop working, trying to figure it out, wll get back to you on this.
135 mins later: I restored the firmware, then setup the email account and downloaded emails, then only did I restore contact etc, everyhting workig great!

any ideas how to get my at and t phone to think its an o2 phone?

I can't get edge to connect
Can you give me the username and pass you put in the network settings under APN

BTW I am using a PAYG o2 sim

I had to get an iphone PAYG sim and transfer my old PAYG number to it, then change apn to payandgo.o2.uk / vertigo / password to get my internet bolt on working properly.

The store wanted to charge me 4.99 for the new sim, but I got customer services to credit my account with the cost.

I got this problem as well: ie American AT&T Phone used in the UK upgraded from iPhone 1.1.4 to iPhone 2.0: iTunes asks to use right operator SIM.

I was seaching the forum for info but no luck so far.

Do anybody know what shall I do or how I can downgrade back to v 1.1.4 and get my I phone to work?
