I didn't restore data. I put all the settings in manually. I have heard that restoring data can mess up email etc.

The O2 PAYG settings are mentioned earlier in this thread.

however i also suggest that u use bootneuter to downgrade your baseband to 1.1.4 standard

I then realized that the dev team released the tool to unlock my iPhone and I decided to go with it.

Although I found the use of the tool more complicated than I thought and my iMac G5 crashed (never before) a couple of times, my I phone is now working fine.

am also in that situatiion coz i upgraded my fone to 2.0 and it is locked now.how do i downgrade to 1.1.4. i really miss my fone

If your on O2, you can just activate it in iTunes for any O2 sim, iTunes doesn't ask you for any contract or anything, just your Apple ID.
