[2.0] Does it upgrade the Bootloader ?
Hi, i no longer have an iphone, and just follow the forums out of interest, but i was just wondering whether upgrading the iphone 2g to 2.0 upgrades the bootloader?
I know everyone said it is highly unlikely apple would release a bootloader upgrade in a new firmware, due to the big risks, but i noticed that you can no longer just update your iphone in itunes, you have to restore.
I was thinking perhaps apple have decided to include a bootloader upgrade so that people that wish to have 2.0 will not be able to have it unlocked.
Just a question for somebody to check, i know the new pwnage tool is capable of unlocking the new firmware anyway, but it isnt released yet and and it may be useful to know this anyway.

No. The firmware update just upgrades the firmware and the baseband. The bootloader won't be touched.

Thats good news then for everybody, as that is the only way i could see apple preventing the 2G phones from being hacked.
