Default [2.0.1] O2 UK - How to fix locate me in maps?

Title says it all, how the hell to get maps to locate me on an O2 iphone on the O2 network with 2.0.1. It's a 1st gen model. Didn't work in 2.0 either, but it did with the G spot app from the App store. Now it doesn't in 2.0.1, even G spot just says acquiring
location forever, and maps just spins round and round.

Anyone with some thoughts on file mods to fix it? Also in Navizon avail for iphone 2.0?

Have the same problem as you just on vodafone UK instead.

I've been googling but so far I haven't found a solution that works.

I will surely keep up to date on this forum if I sort it out, though looking at Apple's forums and O2's forums we're not alone!

As I said. It's not working on an official Apple unlocked 2G iPhone here aswell. Hope this will be solved soon.

Default Wi-Fi problem - could you give this a try

I am playing around with my iPhone and found out this: Once I shut off Wi-Fi Google Locate works without any problem. Once Wi-Fi on the iPhone is on it stops working and I get the cycling blue thing.

happens on all my three iPhones, the two hacked and the official unlocked - all 2G.

Would be great if you could confirm/test this one. If so it's a bug in Apple/Skyhooks setup.

    Interesting files in private/var/root/library/caches/locationd

I delete the entire locationd folder and it rebuilds once location is attempted. The entries seem to be different everytime. Wonder if someone with a working phone can report the what's found in the number box within the cache and cells.plist?

I also looked at the locationd and map plist files found in private/var/mobile/library/preferences

Deleted them too, and they are also recreated.
