Exclamation [1.1.4][Problem] iPhone will freeze at Slide to Unlock and fail to reboot (Tried DFU)

    Hi everyone,

I was installing & uninstalling a few apps this morning and now my iPhone is stuck at the boot screen with the Apple logo and the loading 'sun' thing going around and around over the top of it. It's been like this for about half an hour. I've done normal restores, DFU restores, and tried running unlock programs to get it past the boot screen, but nothing's working.

I think it may have had something to do with either Customize or SummerBoard because the Spring Board went all glitchy before my iPhone froze & I restarted it (at which point it never got past the boot logo).

I'd really appreciate if anyone has any ideas for what I can do to fix it...

    Thanks

EDIT - 11 May: I've changed the status on this thread from Solved back to Problem. See my comment at the top of page 6 for details...

All I can advise based off the minimal phone info that you have provided is restore and start over. Your thread title is non conforming, I would suggest fixing it before...

I would take his advice but I would try and have ziphone put it in to recovery mode and restore since it can't get past boot up iTunes might not see it also you could try sshing if possible and detleting the last app you installed

Sorry I should've given more details about the phone. I unlocked with the PwnageTool. It's on 1.1.4 with 3.9BL, though I can use the PwnageTool to get the bootloader to either 3.9 or 4.6 with the custom firmware.

Restoring software through iTunes works just fine - no errors or anything. I've tried restoring with BootNeuter set to all combinations of locked, unlocked, 3.9 and 4.6, so I don't think it's anything to do with the PwnageTool. Then it does the 'Your iPhone has been restored and going to reboot and then show up in iTunes, this message will be dismissed in 12...11...10 seconds' thing.

The problem is that the iPhone doesn't reboot all the way back into the springboard (or even the Slide to Unlock screen). It's stuck at the boot up logo with a swirly loading 'sun' thing.

Has anyone heard of Customize or SummerBoard causing lasting problems like this?

iTunes definitely recognizes it because I've done restores (both in DFU mode and the usual 'Connect to iTunes' mode). I can't SSH because all the restoring I've been doing would have wiped the wireless passwords. I don't know if it's even booting far enough for the WiFi to be turned on...
