Hi,

Recent problem just occured with my 8GB 1.1.4 j/b unlocked iPhone. Every time I hit the phone icon, first it doesn't show the names of any of the options at the bottom of the screen (Favourites, Recents, Contacts, Keypad & Voicemail) and then the App will automatically exit and go back to the home screen.

I can only make calls through the contacts app, and even then, the call goes through but remains on the home screen. Which means I can't actually end a call or use the keypad or any of the functions from the call screen.

Everything else on the phone is running perfectly, so I'm sure its a fault with the phone app.

I was thinking about restoring the phone and starting over, but thought I'd check with the experts here in case something else can be done, and also what exactly is causing it.

Restore, or change the permissions of the phone app, my guess is the permissions aren't correctly put.
a restore will put everything back, or you could try ssh'ing and fixing the perms, but i'm not certain you only have to fix the permissions.

I'd go and restore, it will probably be the fastest way. Dont know if its permissions, which of them, how to set. This will all take a while, restore and you should be done in half an hour.
