the phone is jailbreaked and unlocked to vodaphone but i cannot call certian numbers...

they can call me and i can call the cell phone right next to them but i get call failed... both vodaphone adn O2 this is happening to...

what should i do - re install and start again or what... only happened last 2 days after nothing like this for last month since i updated the phone...

Yeah, try restoring and reunlocking and rejailbreaking, with ZiPhone, iLiberty, or PWNAGE, depending on what type of computer you have.

I had this problem too.

In my country (Guatemala) there are three different cell phone companies. After I upgraded firmware version and restored the data from the iTunes backup, one of the three SIMs started to give call failed and I couldnt make a call. Its curious though, that this only happened with the SIM of one company.

After that, i restored-jailbroke-unlock my iPhone, but instead of restoring the backup from my older firmware, I chose "set up as a new iPhone" and synced all again. Finally, I could make calls with any company. I think that something that restores from the backup messes up someting in the iPhone firmware that affects call-making.

The bad thing about this is that you loose your notes and settings.
