Hi guys , i have just bought a used iphone and the seller has pointed me to this site for help .

I have read ALOT of info today , and became totally scared and confused lol !!

Im sorry if i am reposting questions been asked a million times ( i 2 hate it wen you see newbies as myself post the same old hash ) but i cant find what im needing to no .

Basically i have one coming to me early next week , it has been used and has been unlocked using iliberty to version 1.1.4 .

My question is , what do i do when i get it , im scared i connect it to my itunes and somehow manage to re-lock it . What do i do when i recieve it to get all my itunes content onto it without doing this . Is there anything i should do or not do ??

A little help would be greatly appreciated as im clueless with these and i dont no anyone who has one .

HI and welcome to the Forum. Regarding to your question, don't worry. If your new iPhone comes unlocked, it will stay like that. In the meanwhile, read as much as you can and use the serach option here. You'll find all the info you need. Good luck!

Just remember not to update it to 2.0 firmware when that comes out. Enjoy

You are safe now at 1.1.4 unlocked with a good software. Apple announced that they will offer firmware 2.0 next Friday, July 11th. When available iTunes will offer to upgrade your iPhone, just dont do it. This would lock your iPhone again. Come back to the forum instead and check here on further options.

Just in case your screw up playing with your iPhone (exept upgrading on Friday), you can always restore to 1.1.4 and then use the mentioned tutorial. There is a Mac version of iLiberty aswell, same download address.
The procedure is pretty much the same, even easier on the Mac.

Just in case:

Connect your iPhone to the Mac. Start iLiberty and hit the tab "Utilities". "Download" the Packages "International Payload for 1.1.4" and "Relocate Fonts and Ringtones". Then acitivate both downloaded packages with their checkboxes.
Goto tab "Main".

Now start the tutorial at step 2.6 and follow all the way to the end.

oops sorry just saw you were a mac user...winamp dosent have a mac version..



now as for your relocking question..thats HIGHLY UNLIKELY with 1.1.4

but 2.0 is a diffrent story...and i wouldent put it past apple to do such a thing to instintly relock the iphone with just connecting it to itunes


but the good news is you can block itunes acess to the net with your firewall and its doubtfull you will ever have any problomes..

you would just have to download the firmware sepritely then do a shift restore

to reload or load a new firmware...


o and i recoment winpwn/pwnage for ALL your unlocking and jail breaking needs...
