Default [1.1.4] iTunes shows wrong phone number

I switch SIMs frequently. Every SIM I use has its own number correctly installed on the SIM card so its shown correctly in iPhone's preferences and phone book - but NOT on the info screen in iTunes.
There I always see the same number regardless which SIM is actually in the phone (its the number I had when the phone was activated and jailbroken).
    I'm on german carriers.
It`s just annoying so does anybody know how to fix this?

Does it matter?! My iTunes doesn't and never did show my phone number.
Maybe Rogoschin is on officially unlocked German phone?!

Your number ONLY appears if you have an unlocked phone for some reason in Europe it appears!

I put my O2 SIM in the phone and there is NO number on iTunes and NO number in my contacts list but if I swap another SIM into the phone my number magically appears in both places!

It would actually be helpful for me in general if my number was displayed on my official contract! lol

Your iPhone/Itunes will dispaly your phone number "if" you have your phone number stored in your sim in the first contact slot as MyPhoneNumber.
to do this either pop your sim card in an El Cheapo cellphone (Nokia/Motorola) and somewhere in the phone settings /contact settings you'll find an option to Define your phone number or you can search the forum to find minicom commands that can be executed on your iphone to do the same.

    Coming to the OP's Problem.
to the best of my knowledge once you sync your iphone to itunes it creates a sync record for that iphone that stores your phone no.
since itunes doesn't identify your phone with a new sim a new iphone, it simply uses the existing data

I am on o2 Germany, number does not show up by default. If you dont have another handy to set this on your simcard (what would be the reason to show up on the iPhone and in itunes), forum member aviegas had posted a how-to (mentioned by fallenczar)

    http://hackint0sh.org/forum/showpost...61&postcount=6

worked and still works for me.

    lol I have 2 iPhones, Nokia N95, Nokia N91, Sony Ericsson K850i, K800i and a W950i a really old P900 and a 3 Skype Phone

Do any of those have that "own number" setting option?

Before you ask I keep trying to sell them all on Ebay but dodgy nigerians keep making fake bids and not paying!

I don't fancy messing with the com centre with minicom even if it is safe - I would prefer the other method!

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------FOUND IT!------------------------------------------------------------------------

Found it on the NON smartphone K850i 5MP camera phone in contacts>options>more>special numbers>my numbers!

All I had to do was enter my number there and save it and it now appears on my iPhone! and in iTunes!

I actually find it a bit wierd as it is clearly saved on the SIM and the iPhone DOESN'T read contacts from the SIM natively so
why does it actually work? strange!

    True,
iPhone doesn't read SIM contacts but it CAN read them.
it is just the way apple decided to implement things. (and it does make sense since you were "supposed" to use the iPhone with its original SIM)

But it seems to read unofficial SIMs but not my O2 SIM! until I saved the number using the K850i and now it appears on the phone! so it still doesn't make sense to me!

Ran into a snag! My official O2 SIM I saved my number and it now appears on both my iPhones but the unofficial O2 SIM number (not that it should make any difference) isn't showing up on either phone although its definately on the SIM as I checked it in the other phones! so I am baffled!

    Any ideas?
