Post [1.1.3] What do we loss by not having 04.03.13_G ?

I’ve got a Question that’s been bugging me

If we are running on 04.02.13_G BB with version 1.1.3 now, what are we missing out on not being able to run the new 04.03.13_G BB?

I’ve always had a weaker signal in the UK on the iphone measured up to my old works Nokia phone the iphone will drop signal where my nokia still has two bars.

    1) Would this be improved with BaseBand upgrades?

    2) What has/does baseband upgrades normally bring to the iphone in the way of improvements ?

Also if someone from the Dev Team read this I’d be really interested to no what’s prevented this new 04.03 from being used this time around for people with 3.9BL

Cant use Google Locations with the 4.02 baseband, 1.1.3 requires 4.03 baseband.

i think even bootloader 3.9 doesnt allow for older baseband versions to be loaded

the difference between 3.9 and 4.6 is , 3.9 allows you to patch the current modem version on it and load it back, so when you grab 1.1.3 secpack , you can patch 1.1.2 baseband (which is 04.02 now)

but 4.6 only allows to load updated basebands , so because 1.1.3 and 1.1.4 is not released at the same time , it's an endless cycle leaving people with ipod touch..

so ,currently because there is not 1.1.4 secpack , there's no modem versions (patched 04.03) around , even you have 3.9 bootloader , you cannot make phone related operations

i dont think there's not a bootloader version , that allows to load PREVIOUS versions ..

    am i true ?

no, there is no patch for 04.03. because noone has made one yet on 3.9 BL you only need current installed BB secpack for read/write BB access...

I have no way to substantiate this with any actual tests, but when I had my iphone upgraded to the 1.1.3 baseband the sound quality and volume control/sensitivity whilst running in ipod mode was improved and the shuffling of songs was improved as it was not playing the same old shit as 1.1.2 seems to do.

I'm now back on 1.1.2 baseband with 1.1.3 software and it's back to normal, i.e. sound is good, but was better with 1.1.3 baseband and my shufflinfg is back to being rather predictable.

Again, no way to prove this. I wish someone with a 1.1.2 baseband and 1.1.3 baseband could do some definitive testing on audio quality and report back about any differences in the basebands.

thats strange, i thought the bb didnt have anything to do with audio quality or your shuffling on the ipod.
