[1.1.3] Spinning wheel, Apple of death
Hello,
I have been having mega issues with 1.1.3.
I have been unlocking, activating, jailbroken via ziPhone.
I have been restoring all weekend, and I cant figure out no rhyme or reason to why or what app is locking up my phone.
I have tried to figure out what or why but it doesnt seem to be any one download that makes a difference app.
There does not seem to be any pattern as to why I get that spinning wheel, which forces me to hold down the sleep/wake along with the home button which then brings me to the apple of death.
I have tried everything to not have to restore.
Can anyone shed any light on this PLEASE.
I don't get it, its so frustrating.
I had a 1.1.1 and I now missing having that one, and wish I still had it.
I had over 150 apps on it and it worked smoothly.
Anyone have ANY ADIVSE???
THANKS

1. Go into DFU mode and restore the iPhone.
2. Go to recovery mode and restore the iPhone again.
3. Use ZiPhone 2.4b to jailbreak,activate your 1.1.3.
It should work fine now.

Downloaded 2.4b but it did not have a GUI.exe.
I used 2.3...
Was this a mistake?
DFU mode is restore mode right?
I am not sure what you mean by restore and then #2. recovery and restore again?
Do you mean restore twice before unlocking?
Thanks

1) Shutdown iTunes and connect the phone.
2) Run ziphone -D
3) Your phone will show the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
4) iTunes should be able to restore 1.1.3 firmware to your phone.
Nevermind. Seems you dont have to restore twice with Ziphone 2.4b. Use 2.4b in command line. There are many tutorials how to use it. Its actually quite simple. Once you use iTunes to restore to 1.1.3, continue to JB and activate.
Also, is your phone soft updated using dev or nate's method? If so, I recommend not to backup the settings as it may mess up the 1.1.3.

Thank you for your help.
No this isia OTB 1.13 16 gig.
I have placed it into the DFU mode and am restoring.
I am using a PC so not sure if that is why I cant run ziPhone 2.4b?
There is not app in the folder that opens any window.
I do have a MAC though.
Can I continue to restore via my PC and then try to use ziPone on the MAC???
And will the GUI work there?
Other wise please advise as to what I need to do to use 2.4b.
Thank you

I am not really sure about MAC's but there should be no problem in you restoring in a PC and using ZiPhone on your MAC.

Ok but...
I dont see how to get 2.4b to opena window
Can you please advise as to that part?
I have restored twice and know that I need ziphone -Z Y as my command.
But where???
Please this is my last part to the puzzle.
Thank you again for your time and effort.

It worked out well (I think)
I guess time will tell if I dont crash again.
I did try ZiPhone -z y as in the text but it was not correct.
Once it stopped I used the following commands ZiPhone -u -j -a.
All seemed to work so I think I am on my way now.
Hope I dont get the spinning wheel again.
Thanks

One way to check if you got the spinning wheel still is to install something via Installer and then reboot your iPhone. If you get to springboard with no troubles, you are clear of the spinning wheel problem.
