    I couldn't get this to work in the UK (on Orange) till I ran:

    Framework AppSupport CPPhoneNumberCopyActiveCountryCode

    It returned gb

    so in PhoneNumberTemplates.txt I changed the UK to read
    // United Kingdom [gb]
    gb 44 00 0 ### #######
    uk 44 00 0 ### #######

    Now it works!!!!
