1.1.3 OTB can it be jailbroken? (not unlocked)
i just recieved a new (probably refurbished) iphone from an apple store as i got water on mine and it wouldnt charge anymore...
anyways my new one is 1.1.3 and 4.3.13g so i will be apart of the waiting for sdk crowd with a boring phone...
I have heard it possible and not for jailbreaking a valid ATT Sim with 1.1.3 OTB. I am NOT trying to unlock it, only jailbreak it. I have a valid ATT account and sim. I have not yet attempted anything on this phone yet.
I heard it can be done but that you lose all actual phone calling functionality.
CAN IT BE DONE?
Thanks for your input.

any other ideas/input?
Hey, I think this will work for you. I upgraded to to the new 1.1.3 so that I could update the baseband and get fully functional google maps, etc. Here's what I did:
I followed this guide:
But with a few differences. The guide is written for Nate's method. I was going to use the dev teams method and couldn't get it to work without the constant reboot issue!
Here's what worked for me...there may be steps you can skip...but this is what I did and it worked.
Once you finish step 10 (just finished jailbreaking 1.1.2), download BSD Subsystem 2.0.
Do not install SSH or anything else...or update installer! Keep the version of installer that gets added in the 1.1.2 JB.
Exit installer. Go back into installer and install the "Official 1.1.3 Upgrader" Version 1.1.3-2. I think it's in installer already...no need to add sources. If it doesn't show up under the recent or system tabs, add community resources and it'll be there. Once you install, it'll put an icon on your home screen. Make sure you change auto lock to never, then tap the icon, DO NOT SELECT HACKTIVATE, and let it do it's thing. It'll take a long time!
At the end it says "attempting to reboot". My install never did...it hung for about 10 minutes, then I manually rebooted and all was well.
After rebooting I think I was fully activated...or maybe I connected to itunes and it activated right away. Either way, everything was good. Installer was automatically updated. I installed BSD Subsystem 2.0 again, because it was gone after the upgrade. Everything works fine, no reboot or other issues. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions or problems!
And let me know how it works for you...
1.1.3 activated and jailbroken and no issues to speak of.
THanks for your help! thumbs up
so this method will jailbreak the OTB 1.1.3 really? my modem fw is 4.03.13_G. is that good or bad?
