We've heard for weeks now that the Dev Team will not release until SDK comes out from Apple..... the NateTrue releases his jailbreak, and now supposedly NerveGas has released one that is official.... Did the Dev Team just change their mind? Where's the official announcement? What about the Dev Team putting their website back up when they have info? Anybody remember that?

What I'm saying is there's gonna be a bunch of different jailbreak releases from all over the place... we should wait for the Dev Team to announce and not get giddy over 2 releases that are premature according to everything the Dev Team is saying and doing.

I know I am gonna be tapping my fingers the whole time waiting, but I also know I will not be posting here tomorrow because I messed something up. I for one will wait for Dev Team to announce their own release and put their status site up with instructions and everything, just like they said they would.

Biggest question.... HOW DO WE KNOW NERVE GAS DIDN'T GET KICKED LIKE NATE TRUE?

Like I said in my post, I plan to wait. I also would like to give others an opportunity to think about what could be happening here. If these 2 releases are not official, what will be better or easier or less risky with the official one? If this second one was leaked, why? Is it illegal like the first?

My hugest question is will the phone be activated when rebooting into 1.1.3 so you can use with ***SIM products? Screenshots anyone?

What is it downloading anyways? The entire 1.1.3 firmware? I understand the purpose of the soft update is to keep baseband intact, but will the official Dev Team release include new baseband? Maybe 1.1.3 OTB jailbreak? It would be comforting to be able to update to 1.1.3 in iTunes so we know everything is as Apple intended it (except, of course, using someone besides AT&T).

idk all i kno is it downloads the full firmware from wht ive seen in the install.sh

im thinking of changing it to where it just skips to the upgrade jailbreak but id like to kno if the BB is changed

Two pieces of information found on the iPhone Dev Teams IRC server....

Following the conversation and asking a few questions, I've gathered that it is official from nobody official. Random chatters were saying it was real and released 10 minutes ago but nobody of any authority around to confirm......

I'm still gonna wait.

Just got off Elite Team IRC and according to a few people, this newer official release is a hybrid of 1.1.2 and 1.1.3, which according to their IRC MOTD "Hybrid 1.1.3 is a PoS, DON'T use it"

Makes me insanely skeptical so I will definately wait for something to be on the Elite Team's website, or a post from someone on the Elite Team.

BTW Elite Team is replacement for Dev Team, correct? That's what I gather on the Elite Team site.

Even if it's the real JB it's so hard to do for a noob like me
