Default [1.1.3 JB][ALERT] The 1.1.3 JB has some very bad side effects

Just a little alert for those pioneers out there. There have been numerous reports (myself included) of people having extreme difficulty downgrading from JB 1.1.3. Some report being unable to restore (constant errors 1603/1604) while others are not able to boot from recovery. Personally, I am now 100% locked out of firmware 1.1.1 for some reason, no tool I use can boot from recovery. Before you start criticizing me, realize that I attempted over 20 times, and I have been screwing with my iPhone since early July, so I'd like to think I know what i'm doing :p. The YMMV thing is a given here, but I can't recommend this JB method to anyone as of right now, it is way too sloppy to be worth potentially serious damage. Before 1.1.3, restoring was the permanent escape route, but now that we're messing with the baseband, even just a little bit and rather indirectly, you could get to a state where iTunes simply rejects your iPhone for all restores because of the mismatch (or so I theorize, I think 7.6 does this).

Don't get stuck between a rock and that hard place we've all come to know so well.

The soft update 1.1.3 doesn't mess with the baseband. Although a few other problems have been reported with the 1.1.3 JB, downgrading is still possible. I have successfully downgraded back to 1.1.1 to then JB 1.1.2 as 1.1.3 wouldn't work with PAYG EDGE.

That's nothing new, downgrading from the official 1.1.3 upgrade wasn't easy, you have to issue terminal commands and such. Have you tried that? Here's the link

@thecompkid: Use iTunes to 7.6 and run iNdependence 1.3.2 beta while iTunes is running and you will get out of restore mode!

And never think you know everything before trying everything

i downgraded from 1.1.3 to 1.1.1 probably ~10 times without issues...
on 1.1.3, iphuc - enterrecovery, filecopy<something - i tab > WTF<something>, cmd go, then restore 1.1.2, then directly restore to 1.1.1, boot with JB1.1.2 or ibrickr, activate, installer - BSD system, (if you where messing with BB) i.unlock.no - BB downgrader, then again restore 1.1.1 and you have pure 1.1.1 phone! this all works with itunes 7.6 so no need to mess around with lower versions

but ye software in this JB package have some issues, also main reason to use 1.1.3 are gmaps that doesnt fully function with 04.02.13 BB sooo... its pretty pointless to upgrade for now, you get more bugs and wiggly icons! yay

i was able to restore back to 1.1.1 numerous times after updating two phones to 1.1.3.. (1.1.1-1.1.3 is not good) then after being back at 1.1.1 upgraded them to 11.2, unlocked them and upgraded them to 1.1.3
