I felt the urge to tell everyone about my 1.1.3 JB experiences.

IMPORTANT: I have an unlocked 1.1.2 phone - I wanted the 1.1.3 firmware features but had no desire to upgrade the baseband - so I did NOT upgrade in iTunes in ANY WAY.

I tried ALL 3 methods and had varying degrees of success!

Nate True Method: Didn't even get me into 1.1.3 I had to restore!

DevTeam Method: Worked but had sync issues and when I used the sync fix the hard reset got me stuck on the restore screen ALSO next to ZERO third party apps worked on my DevTeam JB phone!

iJailbreak method (Using MAC): I love Arix and his associates - it works perfectly for me! All third party apps work - syncing works - all the passwords are saved (although I did run the mailfix option in installer)... but it does what it is meant to do.

I used my MAC to run it from there and then used the Nate True soft upgrade in installer to kick it into 1.1.3.

Worked like a charm and everything was there - I installed NetServices to turn off EDGE/SSH (as I am not on an iPhone contract and don't want a huge bill) - note Netservices would NOT work with the devteam jb!

Now I am sure some people have used Nate's method - and to be fair the iJailbreak method is a reworking of Nate's method but refined and using his soft upgrade installer app but at the end of the day the other methods failed me in someway and made me regret even attempting the 1.1.3 upgrade!

I am sure some people have used the DevTeam JB - some people will have issues that others won't have and at the end of the day this is a temporary JB until the SDK/Next firmware is out - but for me I know which one worked better!

IMPORTANT STUFF I FOUND OUT JB:

How to change EDGE settings even if you use an official SIM (assuming your unlocked).

When I put my O2 SIM in the iPhone it saved the correct EDGE settings - how did I fix this? (ignoring NetServices which turns EDGE off -this is to change settings).

I put in another SIM which unlocked the EDGE settings menu then staying in the menu I put my "official" network SIM in and then entered some made up rubbish in the settings. I then exited. When I went back into network prefs the EDGE menu was gone but it saved my made up settings over the top of the official SIM setting thus turning off EDGE manually!

1.1.3 Backups DO NOT work with 1.1.1/1.1.2 or lower!

If you try and use your 1.1.3 backup on any lower firmware it will NOT work and cause an error - so if you want to use your 1.1.3 backup remmeber it wont work if you downgrade again! But backups made below 1.1.3 do work in every firmware but remmeber again once it is backed up in 1.1.3 it will ONLY work in 1.1.3 for now. (Turns out I may be wrong about that! but that is what happened for me!).

Also somewhat strange was when I downgraded to 1.1.1 last time jailbreakme.com worked first time perfectly - but tonight it took 3 attempts before it worked! which I found odd!

I used the Dev Team jailbreak and NetServices works for me. And I have no problems restoring 1.1.3 backup to 1.1.1 or 1.1.2.

I want to use the one on Installer by Conceited but I can't seem to find any info on how it's going for folks. (AT&T user).

I'm also trying to find out the status of Summerboard & Customize.... where they're at in the process of updating to 1.1.3

i used Nates JB... i have everything working exactly as it was when i was at 1.1.2...
Catorgories is working so i dont have a messy spring board..

All icons i dont want on spring board are hidden in sub folders (catorgies)

SSH works fine

Customize works all except for hiding icons (which i am not fussed about becasue i sorted it another way like said above)

Edge Works

Email saves p/w etc

Wifi workes perfectly

Summerboard themes work fine.

in other words my 1.1.3 is the exact same as my 1.1.2 but with wiggley icons lol

Anyone else used the ijailbreak method, I'm keen to upgrade but i'm still not too sue if it's wise to do it or not

Could you please provide some information on how you got Categories and Summerboard working? I tried faking out the version number and I was able to install Summerboard but it didn't actually work once I had it installed.

catorgories just works as it did on 1.1.2... ie making new folders and putting apps in them...

Summerboard i only use for themes so thats all i haver tested... that was done with the fake version number trick...

To hide icons on the spring board (that are already in catorgories) i have posted a tutorial on how to do it in General Section

Hmm... I don't know why some phones seem to have no problems with apps and others just don't work. When I run Categories it just hangs a second then crashes me back to the springboard, just like all the other apps that don't work (Caissa, iFlix, Listen, and more). Are there permissions that I need to modify or something?

did u reinstall catorgories for 1.1.3?

if not have you tried that?
