Default [1.1.3] how to change hostname (noname->iphone)

    Hi friends!

    i'm a hardcore iphone up/downgrader an restorer.
    (sorry my english is bad)
    my problem:
after update (nate true's or dev-team) to 1.1.3, the network hostname has changed from"iphone" to "noname" or "localhost".
if i paired over bluetooth with my car (E60 BMW) i see "noname" on the display.
nslookup on the local network shows "noname".

how i can change the hostname from the iphone? or a fix available?

    thx
    stephan

Just click on the name on the left in iTunes and it will let you rename it.

Default To see your name on DHCP client list

The above method works for the Mac/PC recognizing your phones name but not when a router shows who is attached to it (ie: DHCP client list).

To set this just pick up your iPhone and run the Settings app. Then go to Network. Then choose your named network and hit the > button. Then look at your DHCP data fields (these should be filled out with various numbers for IP address and such) and at the bottom is 'Client ID'. You can touch this field and edit the data and put in whatever name you like (ie: 'Dons iPhone'). Then hit Renew Lease. Now go back to your router and look at the DHCP client list (hit refresh just to be sure it's current).

Voila! Now your iPhones name (or whatever text your Client ID says) shows up on the router.
