There has been an influx of threads on 1.1.3 doing the same thing, they are either:

1. Trying to prove it fake

2. Telling everyone about the video that got released (I saw 3 different ones this morning)

3. Arguing about why they never showed the about screen and saying "HM I DIDNT KNOW AT&T IS CALLED NATE NOW LOL LOL FAKE!"

Let's debunk everything one by one...

1. I'd actually be glad if it was fake and that was going to be in an upcoming version of SummerBoard, that would demonstrate how much we can really do with the power of hacking, meaning we could also do much more.

2. We know the video is released, we know about both, Nate's and the GearLive one. Don't post it.

3. You know how when you upgrade to a new version (legitimately & without restoring of course) your options stay the same? Like how the brightness stays how it is and doesn't go up/down to the halfway mark? That is because everything in /private/var/root/ stays the same when you upgrade, not just what you see on you iPhone, which is only /private/var/root/Media. In /private/var/root/ is a directory called /Library/Preferences/, which is where all of your preferences are stored, including com.apple.springboard, which includes the fakeCarrier value that was set by Make It Mine.

The reason that he is not sharing it is because he will get in trouble along with the leaker (if it has watermarks). If Apple finds out that he released it to the public, than they will treat him as they would treat the leaker, because as far as they are concerned, he IS the leaker. With the watermarks that it probably has, the real leaker will go down along with him, making things worse.

If there is any kind of development on 1.1.3, maybe there should just be a sticky for that so that the forums don't get cluttered again. If you are just seeing this thread, this is all you need:

Good point, but I included that because every thread about 1.1.3 has at least 5+ people claim it is fake just because it says "Nate" in the corner. I am not proving it real or fake, but I am simply debunking the idea that it is fake because of this.

i understnd that but dont you think people will just jump on this thread and argue about what you said and whether its fake or not?

I mean this is a good post and there should be a sticky but IMO you should of thought a lil bit harder before starting another thread about the stupid 1.1.3 update

Who said its going to be called 1.1.3? Thats only speculation at the moment! IMO this more than a minor update and deserves at least a 1.2.0 identifier.

If this is the case and given the widespread reporting of 1.1.3, then it is possibly fake. Information from the about page will put a lot of speculation to rest. Also in the video it hangs possibly an indication of an early beta version.

I understand what you are getting at, and I might have worded it in a bad way, but my intention was to get people to stop asking in every single 1.1.3 thread why the carrier logo says Nate and have it explained, in every thread

Well the about screen can be easily editted, so there would be no point. Also, under the assumption that it is real, why would they lie and call it 1.1.3? Also, anything is subject to change. For all we know, Apple could release it as 1.2.0, 1.1.3, 1.2.1, anything. Hell, they could even remove some of the features and nobody could complain because they weren't even supposed to have them, similar to how they removed the fake carrier/time/bars options, the cloak status bar option, the battery level option, etc. They can really just do what they want.
