so you're paying em another 40$ to take it back (so apple). also....yeah it's 5 per person in both stores I've been to, Fifth ave in NY and a mall in NJ. they don't take cash either it's true, I think that's silly though - not like you can't just deposit cash into a bank account and use a debit card, or even better who has a credit limit less than 2k anyway????

the reason they only allow credit card transaction is to prevent people from returning the phone for cash in case it doesn't work or for whatever reason. Now imagine Apple allows cash transaction and Person A buys an iphone and unlocks it and sells it to person B. Person B could return the iphone for cash for whatever reason minus the premium he is paying. Now with Apple only allowing credit card transaction, Person B is stuck with the phone and can't return it to the store unless it is defective. I would suspect that apple only allows credit card transaction for record keeping for historical iphone purchasing patterns?
