    Thumbs up [1.1.3 & 1.1.4][How To]Take screenshots using built-in SpringBoard hidden feature

    Pulled this from a different forum posted by Rip Dev:
    While working on the Caterpillar update, we've discovered a fun fact - the SpringBoard can perfectly take screenshots without the help of 3rd party apps!

    Here's how: after setting a specific variable in the SpringBoard preferences file, you're able to take screenshots of anything, including the Lock screen, and the pictures will appear in the Photos so you can instantly share them just like any other picture.

    To enable:

    * Add http://repository.ripdev.com/ to Installer.app if you haven't already
    * Install Apple Screenshot Enabler from the RiP Dev category
    * Take your screenshots ))

    To take a screenshot, hold down Home (Menu) button on the phone and toggle the Mute button. The screen will flash and the screenshot will be saved to the Camera Roll. Simple as that!

    Credit goes to Apple for implementing this... We just found how to activate and use it.

    Enjoy.
    Works Great!!!

    Could anyone trying this try to find specifically how this is done? I have seen many references to this and have tried to include it in my Extended Preferences Hack since version 2.9 but I have never succeded...

    Try

    Code:
    	<key>SBMobileScreenshotr</key>
    	<true/>
    in /private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/com.apple.springboard.plist

    Just what I needed. Add this to any of the .plists in your Preferences.app to toggle enable/disable
    Code:
    		<dict>
    			<key>cell</key>
    			<string>PSSwitchCell</string>
    			<key>default</key>
    			<integer>1</integer>
    			<key>defaults</key>
    			<string>com.apple.springboard</string>
    			<key>key</key>
    			<string>SBMobileScreenshotr</string>
    			<key>label</key>
    			<string>Enable Screenshotr</string>
    		</dict>

    Added it to General.plist as a test... works great

    Edit:

    The picture previews misty then clears after a few seconds even after a reboot, and if I try to access the Camera Roll from the PC direct in C:/Apple iPhone folder they are not there but normal pictures taken on the iPhone are?
