    Default [1.1.3 (1.1.2OTB)] WiFi not working properly

    For the last few days, my wifi connection has been acting strangely. My network/router usually does not show up in the wifi menu except once every ~5 minutes. When I try to select it, most of the time no IP/DNS/etc shows up for the network when I click the arrow. When it does, the IP usually is 169.254.x.x. So far I've been able to get one page to load very slowly when I can get it working, before the connection just drops.

    This first happened when I was running 1.1.1. The wifi was working perfectly fine on 1.1.1 for a long time and this suddenly appeared out of the blue. Since this started, I upgraded to 1.1.2, jailbroke it, and the wifi problem was still there. Then I did 1.1.3 with and without a jailbreak and it was the same. I then restored to 1.1.3 and it still did not work.

    My router is not the problem; I have laptops on the network working without trouble. I have reset my router a few times since this started.

    Any ideas why this is happening?

    Default my wifi problem

    Maybe you find something useful in my problem solving.

    I was trying very long time to share internet to my iPhone(1.1.2OTB, now 1.1.3) via my laptop wireless.My iPhone had wifi connection while i'm in setting menu. But when i pushed home button, it every time losts wifi. Then i found, that ir does not remember password for my WEP network. This can be seen from keychain, which you can dump while you in settings menu via ssh:

    echo '.dump' | sqlite3 /var/Keychains/keychain-2.db | gzip -c >keychain-2.dump.gz

    here you will get sql dump file, in first table is data for wifi networks, if there is your network ssid, then iPhone knows your network.
    But if not, then you'll need edit some .plist file to enter several keys and password for your network. After that my wifi works great, it automatically connects when i'm near my laptop and disconnects when iPhone inactive.

    Can you please so me step by step for wat you did? I have the same issue but dont know how to solve that. Everytime I pressed Home Button, wifi disconnected. Its bugging me since I update my iphone to 1.1.3.

    Thanks in advance.

    P.S: I connect my iphone to laptop using ad-hoc too.

    My iPhone wifi starts working normally after many edits of /var/preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.wifi.plist

    now it looks so:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">

    <key>SignalStrengthThreshold</key>
    <integer>30</integer>
    </dict>
    </plist>

    if in your plist isn't some keys, then you should add it manually
    this is not 100% fix, after each changing you need restart iPhone and then try again to connect to ad-hoc network, when it's done, you will get connected on restart

    I noticed a few things about my phone:
    When it connects to my router for a few seconds, the phone's device name shows up as HOST1 on the router. Before, it used to show up as the name I gave it when I set it up through itunes.

    WiFi did not work for me last night or two nights ago, but I left the phone on overnight and the next morning on both days, WiFi was working fine - but only for ~30 minutes! Then it suddenly died each day. Strange.

    How did you get ssh to work?

    it seems this is an inherent 1.1.3 bug. It would be pretty cool to have the community fix it before apple.
