[1.1.3 (1.1.2 OTB)] AT&T plan > Jailbroken > "repair needed" after a few months.
what is the long term effect after jailbreaking the iphone with a legal ATT contract? the reason i ask is that i jailbroke my 1.1.3 and upgraded from a 1.1.2 and after a couple of months i could not receive or make any calls and i got a message on the iphone saying that i could not make or receive call and it needed repairs

thats not a bad question but a bit of a odd one. I am legit too and I have been jailbroken since 1.1.1 and I have been ok with all normal functions except when ziphone broke my youtube and my safari had a cookies problem but that was easily fixed. Why do you ask is, your iPhone ok?

not to sound like some tool but jailbreaking in and of its self is a risk because your installing unapproved hardware. Just look at how many threads we have about ziphone downgrading peoples bootloaders with out there knowledge. Another thing is it could have just been a hardware issue, just the other day we had a thread with a1.1.4 fresh OTB having the major minor root problem and it wasn't even jailbroken I think. Anyways what I am trying to get at is that its up to you what you do. Just try and becareful with what you install and make sure you fallow the guides and you should be ok. Even if you have a issue your welcome here as long as you fallow the forum rules and are cool about it. Sorry about your phone but remember its a risk you take in the hacking game.

I understand and agree what you are saying, but the situation is no different than installing 3rd party SW on your own PC/Mac and having it crash! Then what do you do? R_E_S_T_O_R_E it.
