    Lightbulb 1.1.2 released or not?

    Hey folks,

It seems that 1.1.2 is half-released, or am I wrong?

My iTunes keeps telling me that 1.1.1 is the latest version of the firmware, but people are already discussing 1.1.2 issues here.

Is anyone getting 1.1.2 via iTunes yet, or is Apple going to release it via iTunes at a later time? I know that Euro-iPhones are shipping with the 1.1.2 firmware.

Right now, only manual download and forcing the upgrade with iTunes.

Two friends updated their 1.1.1 iPhones (they wanted to do a recovery) through iTunes and iTunes told them before the update that they have the latest firmware. Then the update went through, they ended up with 1.1.2. Funny? Not for my friends. So be careful.

my iTunes still shows 1.1.1, but it's iTunes 7.4.3.1 (Win).

Since 1.1.2 "requires" iTunes 7.5 to activate, maybe it will only show if you have 7.5.

Or, there is another way for iTunes to get update. Download it and "run" it. At least on Windows the ipsw extension is associated with iTunes as "iPod Update File". So if iTunes "opens" the file, it will know it's the latest. But I guess it will not use it unless it 7.5.

So the result may vary depending on the iTunes version.

My two friends both updated using iTunes 7.4.x, so be careful, you might end up with 1.1.2. Do a manual recovery if you need to.
Another strange thing: I have two iTunes accounts, one german and one US.
When logged in to the US account, iTunes showed no updated for the iPhone.
When logged in to the german account, iTunes showed the 1.1.2 update.
Both with iTunes 7.5 running on Leopard.

    That is interesting.
But how will it work with someone without a iTunes account?
    Really strange.

At one point, iTunes 7.4.3 on Tiger thought that 1.0.2 was the latest while I tried to update it to 1.1.1

    Really strange.

First. There is NO WAY for iTunes 7.4.X to know if your iPhone has another country's SIM, ALL iphones available until today have been either ATT or "borrowed" from ATT system. I mean for Apple, there were no other carriers or countries just ATT USA.

Second. Because Apple has stablished version 7.5 to be THE ONE to have iPhone International support it doesn't make sense to be able to upgrade to 1.1.2 using ver 7.4.X ... your computer nor your IP address is your iPhone... and changing a country on your iTunes Account has nothing to do with this, what if I don't have an account?

Third. I just checked there's no 1.1.2 upgrade available myself changing the country... I just restored my iphone 2 hours ago because I wanted yo use the jailbreakme.com method (cleaner) and jailbreaked it with no problem... with my 7.4.2 iTunes... so no "upgraded without notice to 1.1.2"... Apple just canīt do that.

As I said, I have on system that iTunes knows about 1.1.2 because by mistake when downloading to 7.5 I've selected "Open" on Firefox and not "Save". So the file was passed to iTunes and now it offers to upgrade.

Otherwise I see no way to get iTunes to know about the upgrade.
