my friend has broke his headphone jack port on his iPhone unfortunately he jailbroke his iPhone the day before it broke, he uninstalled all his apps via installer and now the only thing left is installer. I told him that a restore would get rid of installer but was unsure if this would get rid of ssh and anything else that has been put on the iPhone.

Please assist in what would be the best course of action

Oh and his iPhone is on an o2 iPhone contract

A restore should be fine, gets rid of everything.

Confirming bathurst_guy's post — jailbreaking is a software modification, restoring restores default software. No worries.

Either way, though, many of the people working at Apple stores aren't ignorant about the whole iPhone hacking scene, and PROBABLY wouldn't deny a broken headphone jack repair because of a little software mod*— just don't go asking for help if it's acting strangely.
