Hello,

I'm having problems setting up my iPhone with Linksys Wireless Router WRT54GS?
The iPhone connects to the router, it receives ip,gateway,dns....all that. I can even open the router settings page with Safari on the iPhone but cannot open any internet pages? And yes I'm sure I have internet coming in to the router.

Anybody else who have experienced the same problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What IP address are you getting on your iPhone? As well, have you tried powering down your Router and turning it back on and try contacting it again?If you try this and the problem continues, make the iPhone "Forget" your network and have it re-find it again and connect...

The iPhone is getting an ip address from the DHCP. It is 192.168.1.103

I also tried powering down and up the router as well as a few "forget this network".

Still no success.

its a known behavior sometimes - a dns issue. go into wi-fi and type 208.67.222.222 or 208.67.220.220 for DNS. Those two are the reliable OpenDNS servers. The dns server you use in your router is otherwise used on the iphone and that often sucks. try it, it will work. i use this on every hotspot i do have internet access.
you might also want to use the two in your router configuration.

try and see if you can connect to wifi using a notebook with wireless. If it connect shows problem is with iphone setting but if not problem is with router and send it for replacement. I have installed recently a linksys router (wrt300n if I remember correct). I just followed instruction on CD and after connecting LAN cable wifi worked without any problem and I install softwares all the time with no problem.

try the resetting of the router and disabling the password if there is. After that put it back again (pass) if the prob solve. Thats what i did when i got a prob on getting the internet and wifi.

Try this :- In iPhones settings go into wifi and click on the network you're connected to, make sure that your Router address is the same as the one you are using to log into the router config page ie:- 192.168.1.1

Thank You for all your suggestions. I will try all of them and see which one works.

After which I'll report back.

- The router does work with the other 3 laptops in the house and even at one time with a desktop using LAN.
