[1.1.2] Error 1604 while restoring
Can some one help me please.
I have unlocked iphone from U.S with firmware 1.1.1 .(came with firmware 1.1.1)
I have been using this phone in U.K on Orange network last 4 months with out any problem.
sudenly my phone will not start . when i switch on all it shows is just apple symbol and then connect
usb cable to itues symbol.
But when I connect to itues (windows pc)then it will display message that itunes detected iphone in restore mode.
so i tried to restore it to 1.1.1 manually(by pressing shift and selcting the 1.1.1 file from my desktop)
many times(at least 15 times i tried) but i get the below error.
The Iphone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred(1604)
so decided to restore it to 1.1.2 manually but still get the same error .
so decided to restore it via itues to 1.1.3 but no luck still get the above error.
I tried it on diffrent widows xp computer i get the same error..really going mad..without phone..
Please can some one help me what i have to do now...
whats exactly wrong with my iphone.---
I have done the below step but no luck...
1. Put your iPhone into DFU mode (With iTunes still open and the iPhone still connected, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button until the screen turns black. Once it does, let go of the Sleep/Wake button. Continue to hold the Home button until iTunes displays a popup about the iPhone being in recovery mode. Click OK.)
2. In iTunes hold the shift key and click on ‘Restore’
3. Select the 1.1.1 firmware file and hit ‘OK’ (Download it here: http://www.hacktheiphone.com/112/iph...re_update.html)
4. After about 4 minutes you will get an error (That’s OK)
5. Close iTunes
6. Download iPhuc (Download it here: http://www.webparinc.com/temp/files/iphuc_windows.zip)
7. Launch the iphuc.exe and type each of these commands on their own line and hit enter for each:
cmd setenv auto-boot true
8. Wait a few seconds and your iPhone should be out of DFU mode and at the activation screen.
still same problem...when i switch on i just see usb to itues symbol.....
i hope some can help here...thanks
I am getting this same error no matter what version I try to restore to. The phone I have is week 47 with a true AT&T Apple activated SIM. This one was at 1.1.3 and I just wanted to Jailbreak it. Now only the iTunes connect screen and no matter what I try to restore to it comes up with either a 1604 or 1603 error.
All you have to do is restart your computer and problem solved.
Counting down for iPhone 2012 =)
rummy ,I hope someone will definetly will give solution for our similar restore problem..thanks
Restarted windows computer at least 25 times...but still no luck mate.
i even un installed ituenes and reinstalled .tried on diffrent computer but still the same.thanks
Have you tried using latest version of iBrickr??? it should boot the phone out of dfu mode and have you running in seconds... Worth a try.. When you run iBrickr just select the Boot phone option.
no i dont know about iBrickr. can you tell me where i can download latest version of iBrickr..and what exactly i have to do....many thanks for ur help.
iBrickr version 0.91 does not see the iPhone connected at all. iPhuc version 0.6.1 will connect to the iPhone in rocovery mode. I can issue the three commands to force a reboot but the phone will not reboot. It remains at the iTunes connection screen.
Just an update.....rebooting the PC did get me past the 1604 errors.

downloaded i brickr v0.91 and my iphone was recognized by ibrickr but however when i done the test it displayed green colour back ground which means i have to restore..so the next option it gave me to restore it to 1.0.2(downgrade) using itunes when i do this i get unknow error(1) this time... anyhelp.....?????thanks
Try opening iTunes, do a restore, and if you get and error restore again to the older firmware. Open iBrickr and see if it connects. If it does then click boot phone. If this doesnt work I'm not sure what the problem is. Maybe try virginizing it, not sure if that is possible without access ON the iPhone but worth a try. I have a 4.6 Bootloader so I don't know much aout virginizing and unlocking. Nor do I care much since I have AT&T.
