When you go from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2, you have to do an "Update", not a "Restore".

    My steps were ..
    - Restore back to 1.1.1.
    - Use AppTapp to get out of DFU mode.
    - Jailbroke 1.1.1 with jailbreakme.com
    - Installed OktoPrep
    - "Updated" to 1.1.2.
    - Jailbroke via 1.1.2-jailbreak http://conceitedsoftware.com/iphone/site/112jb.html
    - Installed BSD, etc...

My question though is this. I just got 1.1.1 back up and running (no activation for phone service yet as expected). But if i go to jailbreakme.com, won't that close the TIFF exploit that would then allow me to jailbreak it once 1.1.2 gets updated?

1.1.2 doesn't jailbreak like 1.1.1 did... It runs a command window instead. It's all in the "readme" file in the 1.1.2 zip posted above...

After running the 1.1.2 Jailbreak, restarting the phone, and the automatic restart it's still sitting at the "slide for emergency" screen. This is an OTB 1.1.2 phone which was downgraded to 1.1.1, jailbroke, had OktoPrep installed, and updated to 1.1.2.

My process was (this was running on Windows Vista):

    - Restore back to 1.1.1.
    - Use iBrickr to get out of DFU mode. (I just opened iBrickr when it was on the DFU screen, iBrickr came up to the screen that gave me the option to "Boot iPhone"... Hit that and the screen went red and then loaded 1.1.1... I connected to iTunes to activate the phone and it would NOT activate it. I was able to access everything on the springboard though (I went to preferences, got my Wifi, etc...)
    - Jailbroke 1.1.1 with jailbreakme.com
    - Installed OktoPrep through the Installer app.
    - "Updated" to 1.1.2 under iTunes (I had 1.1.1 firmware already downloaded... I did a Shift + Update and it let me select the file to update to)
    - Jailbroke via 1.1.2-jailbreak (http://conceitedsoftware.com/iphone/site/112jb.html) - under Windows, this is a command window, it's really easy... Reboot the iPhone when it tells you to and you're golden. You'll have the Installer app on the springboard and you can go and do everything else from there (Install SSH, whatever else you want)...

Ok, that makes more sense to me then.

I just got it to 1.1.2 and just ran the jailbreakme.jar file. rebooted it. waited for it to reboot itself again. And it is up and running with SSH and Installer up front.

SERIOUSLY GUYS!!!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE HELP HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm using the AT&T SIM card that came with the phone. Do I need to be using an active AT&T SIM card from another iPhone? Thanks.
