I dunno what my original fw was (whatever the first iphones came with). I ran AnySim when it first came out with a GUI. Later I did revirginize it. Although, I can't remember doing anything specific to the IMEI as most instructions have.

Well, I've successfully made the past few updates except that I can never activate without hacking through it. I am using AT&T... original sim and all. After restoring the phone says 'connect to itunes for activation' or whatever. When I do, iTunes tries to contact the iTunes store and I get a message like, "iTunes store is not responding. Try again later." I can still access the iTunes storefront and do anything else interacting with the store. I have this same problem on many different computers (mac/pc) all with this phone.

Also of note, my phone number is listed as "#" in iTunes. Everything else seems to work, but I would like to get off the hacks (if possible) and just continues updating as normal. I've searched around this forum (and the net) and can't find any info.... there's just too much clutter about "activation" and expected downtimes for me to find what I want.

The specific error message is as follows:
"Could not complete the iTunes Store request. The store may be busy."
"Check your Internet connection or try again later."

I'm quite comfortable on the command line. Any help is appreciated.
