Default 1.1.1 - Terrible battery performance?

I just updated to 1.1.1 from 1.0.2. I re-jailbroke my phone and installed the same apps I had before I updated.

I now have absolutely terrible battery life.

I used to get through an entire day with most of the battery left (I don't listen to music much, a little talking on the phone and browsing during the day)

Now with 1.1.1, my battery seems to be draining at a phenomenal rate. After a days use similar in load to before, I'm in the red!

Anyone else experience this, or know what might be going on?

    Thanks,
    Matt

all i can say is too always let the battery drain completely, then charge it the AC, but you are probably doing that anyway...
if i have seen a little farther, it is because i've been standing on the shoulders of giants

My understanding is that this depends on the type of battery.

NiMH batteries charge better and have longer lives if they are fully discharged before being charged.

Li Ion batteries (like in our iPhone) have a life span that is less dependent on use, and more dependent on age. These batteries will go into a "Deep Discharge" if completely discharged, and will take as much as 20 times as long as usual to recharge. Deep discharges can also depending on the design of the battery cause a reduction of battery life, but most modern devices have protective circuitry that shuts down the device before the battery reaches deep discharge.

I did install SSH but I have it shut off using the "Services" app, so it shouldn't be draining any battery.

My only guess is that either something is wrong with 1.1.1 itself or one of the installed apps is running in the background draining battery, but nothing suspicious shows up in a "ps -A" command.

I'm on the same boat. No matter what I do the battery is dead by the time I get home from work. I'll charge overnight. In the mornings it appears to have a full charge. Light EDGE usage on the bus ride to work. Sleep mode throughout the day (can't use the phone at work). Light EDGE usage on the bus ride home from work (battery appears to be at about 60%). Usage reflects about 10hours on standby and 1 hour use. As soon as I get a call, the iphone shuts down. Upon restart, it goes to "battery at 10%" and instant shutdown.

    Vitals:

    HW Unlocked 1.0.2
    Virginized 1.0.2
    Upgraded to 1.1.1
    Jailbreaked it with "AppSnapp"
    Unlocked with "AnySim 1.1"

Please check if Services or Ulctl really stop SSH.
For me, SSH still working after i stopped it. (try to connect)
(it's stopped it on 102, but not in 111)

So, i recommend to uninstall it. Or someone know how really unload it?
