Hi guys,
I had a brand new 1.1.1 and unlocked it with NO problems using jailbreakme.com

Everything worked (ex YouTube, Wifi, etc) , i had tons of apps with installer and everything was perfect. NOW, today all of a sudden the wifi scans for networks and finds NOTHING.

This is very strange considering it worked fine for months. I tried to do a restore to 1.1.1 but since Wifi couldn't find a network i couldnt do "jailbreakme", and ended up going back to 1.0.2 to find that STILL NO WI-FI.

Under Settings it has the mac adress and everything but under wifi settings it jus scans and cannot find any networks!!!!
Whats going on ? Any ideas? please help!!! i need Wi-Fi oh so bad! hehe

just a quick thought,
az your phone is quite old, i'm guessing it's perhaps bootloader 3.9?
If it is, try upgrading to 1.1.3, then downgrade the baseband on 1.1.1.
Multiple tuturials about that floating around.
this should fix it. If your bootloader is 4.6, don't even think about doing this.

yeah my phone was a brand new 1.1.1 OTB it does have bootloader 3.9

one thing i tired was soft updating to 1.1.2 and it made my modem firmware 4.02

then i downgraded back to 1.0.2 (can't 1.1.1 cuz i dont have wifi)

but now i have to UNLOCK again with anySIM 1.2.1u, and THAT doesn't work i keep getting any error at the end of the process.....

should i stick with the 1.1.2 basebase and downgrade to 1.1.1? or go up one more to 1.1.3 and back the 1.1.1? thanks for your help, i hope the issues is baseband related and NOT hardware......that would suck since im in canada and have no way to get it fixed

Well, 1.1.3 is known for fixing the no-wifi, Bad IMEI bug and more,
as you upgrade your baseband by going up, it might be fixed when you downgrade again.

Try this and keep us updated,

hey boz thanks for your help, i updated to 1.1.3 and then slowly downgraded back to 1.0.2 and downgraded the baseband from 04.03.13_G to 03.14.08_G with all the proper files and secpack etc.

Yet nothing has changed and the WiFi still doesn't work? All it does is scan for networks and finds nothing (times out) and just keeps searching nothing. could it be some hard ware problem since i have tried all firmwares and upgraded and downgraded the basebands...

i dont know what the heck is goin on?? seems like i have tried anything? any other ideas?

wi fi basically stopped working on a 1.1.1 and since then i have tried every firmware with no sucess...mac address is there and i can turn wifi on and off, but when its searching for networks its finding NOTHING!?

whats going on here, base band upgrade/downgrade didn't do anything

after googling some info, i found that this is a common problem other people are experiencing? everybody i talked to also suggested upgrading to the 1.1.3 firmware since the new baseband should fix the problem. However, this did not....even after having the 1.1.3 baseband and downgrading to 1.0.2 firmware still lerft the phone scanning for networks but not finding any....

any ideas?? im fully stuck here....only other thing i can think of is hardware problem, but judging by the othe forum postings over the web (none which offer a solution) im not fully convinced.........any ideas??

Hmm, if it's a hardware malfunction, imho the only thing you can do is revirginise, and try to get a replacement iphone or stick with it? Does edge still work btw?
