Only if your emulator can emulate ARM instructions well.

Thanks very much for verifying this
I'm using a TurboSIM unlocked 1.0.2 phone and it's very reassuring to see that this method has the safest upgrade path to 1.1.1 fully working

Also, any chance you could give a really quick summary of what you did? since you had a 1.1.1 out of the box, I assume you had to follow every step of the instructions:
- downgrade to 1.0.2
- jailbreak
- set up turbosim
- activate and test turbosim
- prepare for 1.1.1 upgrade
- upgrade/jailbreak
- activate again
- turbosim working, 1.1.1 fully unlocked?
Vaguely like that?

Does YouTube and Yahoo Mail still work with the new activation?

Hi folks,
has anyone tried the GeoHot hardware unlock after 1.1.1 jailbreak ?
Thanks, Newchurch

ricochet:
That's basically it. Downgrade to 1.0.2
More or less followed the idea here for jailbreak:

Then this for activation:

All this was done with a TurboSIM which had been setup previously in the phone.

Won't work, for a number of reasons.

WOW, that's weird.
Just tried YouTube, tapped the icon, it appeared to open to a black screen, nothing else happened. The home button didn't work. So I turned the phone off then on, and when it returned, the YouTube app icon is missing from springboard, like it self destructed.
