Aren't you comparing apples and oranges?
If SSH works it doesn't mean that FTP works too.

Sorry man, but in some guides I read to use Cyberduck or Fugu...
None of them works.

Make sure Cyberduck is accessing the phone via SSH or SFTP not FTP. (There are choices when you create the connection)

Yes way. I'm looking at it right now
Click "Open Connection"
Top of the screen, drop down menu "Protocol"
3 choices. FTP, FTP-SSL and SFTP
Choose SFTP
Fill in the rest of the information and connect

Guys, do you really want to help this guy because I get the feeling that everybody just throws in some crap without even thinking it through.
I have the same problem: I can connect using command line in terminal but I can't access my 1.1.1 iPhone using Cyberduck or Fugu or Transmit (latest versions).
Cyberduck gives the sftp stream error, Fugu just tries to connect and then stops without any error message, Transmit just shows "Connection Denied".
Yes, I know the difference between ftp and sftp. *lol*
I checked out Cyberduck's/Fugu's and Transmit's support sites but no info available about the mentioned issues. I may know where the problem is but before I start screwing around with certificates and authorizations, I wish somebody would know where the problem is.

Yes I was trying to help.
He mentioned an FTP stream ending, so my first thought was that he was attempting to use the wrong protocol.
My next question would be if he was sure he had all the appropriate utilities installed on the phone, particularly the BSD package.
Sometimes oddball things stop the SFTP connection. If I remember right, being connected to iTunes blocked my access to the phone at one point
I had a similar problem when doing one of my 1.1.1 jailbreaks. I had to go back into iNdependance and reinstall the SSH utilities. Something seemed to have removed, or disabled, the initial install
