[1.1.1/1.1.2 (1.1.2) [Problem] [Not recognising o2 sim & jailbreak 1.1.2 problem]
Hi
I realise there are a lot of people out there that have problems with their
Iphones and would like to get some help, which I why I really appreciate anyone who takes time to read and hopefully help me out with my problem.
What I have:
Iphone bought in the UK on o2
04.02.13_g - I’m guessing version 1.1.2
What I’ve done so far:
Downgraded the firmware to 1.1.1 using a firmware file called
iPhone1,1_1.1.1_3A109a_Restore.ipsw
I’ve Jailbroken that firmware... works fine... except when I try to slot my PREPAID o2 Sim card in I get a dot in the upper left corner and 4 smaller dots after that. This stays there for a few minutes until the message 'No service' appears. If I try to dial a number I will get a message saying 'Call Failed'.
The simcard I am using is a prepaid one which isn’t activated yet so I cannot
call out with it but I am supposed to activate it by calling '4444' so I guess I
should at least be able to dial that number. I haven’t got another phone
unlocked to o2 so I can’t try it to be sure but it shouldn’t be a problem.
When I slot the sim card which came with the phone into it, I get the same thing but that’s expected as it’s not on contract or activated.
Is there a separate 1.1.1 firmware for the US and the UK? If there is, is that
what is causing my problem? Or can I only use an o2 sim on the 1.1.2 firmware?
That’s my first and main problem. The second is when I try to upgrade to 1.1.2 .
I follow all the instructions and I don’t have any issues on the way. When I get
to the stage where the phone is being jailbroken and it restarts by itself (or
some people tell you to reset it) ... it does... but it reboots with the lock
and I’m back to square one again.
The instructions I’m following are from
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=zDN_wA...eature=related
I’ve tried to repeat the whole procedure twice but I get the same result. At the
moment my phone is 1.1.1 so that I can at least use the features... but still
not the phone.
As you can see I’m a bit of a noob but I still understand most of the technical
terms.
Please give me some advice if you can on what I should do.
Again... any help is very much appreciated.
Thanks
Alex
