Hi All...

Well, I've been in the Amazon Jungles of Brazil for about 4 months, and now I'm back....and I see all this new "stuff"..... 1.1.4, Ziphone, iLiberty, etc!!!! It's like I went to sleep with an Atari and woke up and my friends all had Wii's...

So, I need some help!!

I have a 1.1.1 (1.02 OTB), jalibroken/unlocked, using Tmobile as my carrier.

I want to upgrade to 1.1.4 HOW DO I DO THIS?

Do I updrade through iTunes and then use iLiberty? Or is there already an upgrade tool in the Installer App? I'm clueless?

At any rate, when i do upgrade, is there a way to keep all of my Contact info, so I don't lose it? (What's the best way, i'm also not very good at using the root/library methods eihter.....is there a "saving your Contacts when upgrading for DUMMIES" tutorial out there....

is there a tutorial just for my situation....1.1.1 to 1.1.4?

PS: Also, important question, will this upgrade in any way affect my EDGE functioning (remember, i'm using Tmobile)

Download PWNAGE from http://www.iphone-dev.org/. You can then use the produced IPSW to upgrade to 1.1.4

upgrade to 1.1.4, then run pwnage to pwn your phone, then create that custom 1.1.4 ipsw with ipwner, then flash that custom ipsw

ipwner works only with 1.1.4. you need 1.1.4 to be able to pwn your phone, then you can go to whatever version you want. to get your internet working, use wap.voicestream.com for the total internet, or go to installer app, and look for edge settings for iphone (1.1.3 settings work also) and install that and internet will work. just did that on mine

Ok, thanks...but, i'm still confused....is the pwng tool the only way to do this.

In other words, can't I just update to 1.1.4 through iTunes, and then use iLiberty to do the jailbreak/unlock?

What's the difference? Is it that pwng will save all of my contacts/music, etc.?

If I use pwng, do I still update to 1.1.4 through iTunes?

u can just restore to 1.1.4 and run iplus or you you can use pwned on a 1.1.4 ipsw and restore to that using iTunes as for a tutorial check Number 41 post /sticky in the pwned fourm
