1.0 Firmware options

I have read through alot of the info on the site and I have to say it is very in depth, unfortunately for me I am still not sure what I should do. I have a Week 27 version 1.0 firmware iPhone that I purchased off of a person who bought it originally, found out it didn’t work with his carrier of choice and left it as is. It has never been activated/hacked anything. Now my question to the community is, does it make sense to leave it with v1.0 and jailbreak it with whatever assorted tools are out there for 1.0, or do I update it to 1.1.1 and use jailbreakme.com. What advantages are there to keeping the original firmware, if any?

why not update, your the newer firmware is more stable and there are new apps from installer.app that only run on newer firmware.

There's no advantage in keeping the original firmware. If I were you, I'd upgrade to 1.1.1 and then follow a guide to upgrade to 1.0.2...
Look for iClarified for good guides...

Another question for you guys, do all the same features in 1.0 work in 1.1.1? I have seen some posts on the forum say that YouTube doesnt work. Also, is there any work around to use iTunes and Vista x64?

Can I upgrade straight to 1.1.1 from 1.0? Also, how do you upgrade firmware with iTunes if there is a newer version than 1.1.1? Does it try to force you to upgrade to the newest release?

just upgrade. go to tutorial section. there are way too many guides.
