[1.0.2] (N/A) [Problem] iTunes won't recognise iPhone when connected
I will admit that I am a n00b when it comes to iPhones as I have only just gotten one today. I have spent all afternoon trying to find out the information I want but I haven't found what I am after. The phone is currently on the 1.0.2 firmware and I believe it is unlocked, however, I currently have an O2 simcard so this doesn't make a difference to me. I would like to update the phone to the 1.1.1 firmware (as from what I read, 1.1.2 isn't all that different and it can cause hack problems). I also read that upgrading the firmware will most likely cause the phone to be locked but if I have an O2 simcard this shouldn't be a problem I hope?! I also hope this won't cause problems with activating the phone (if the phone will be reverted back to a pre-activation state). Although, before I can do any of this, I need to be able to see it in iTunes! I installed iTunes 7.5 and whenever I connected my iPhone I was getting an error saying something aong the words of "iTunes cannot connect to the iPhone. Error....". After reading online and a few suggestions I uninstalled 7.5 and installed iTunes 7.4 but to no avail. The error message doesn't even come up now.
I read in one of the many forums I was in that this could be because of when the phone was first unlocked but I'm not sure.
Can anyone help with getting iTunes to recognise my phone so then I can upgrade the firmware?!
