[1.0.2] Jailbreak Issue
I am having an issue jailbreaking my BL3.9 1.0.2 8GB iPhone. I originally set it up last year using 10.4, iTunes 7.4.2 and iNdependence 1.2.4 (+/- on the the third decimal) to activate and AnySIM 1.2 or 1.1 (either way, it was the damaging one, so I need to virginize). I am not overly interested in running additional apps, so I did not jailbreak it. Fast forward to now and I have 10.5.2, iTunes 7.6.1, and the latest version of iNdependence. Oh, and I also installed the SDK when it came out.
At this point I would like to upgrade to 1.1.4, but I am stuck.
According to the the release notes of iNdependence I should be able to jailbreak using that version, but every time I try it gives me an error about being unable to modify Services.plist. I tried to downgrade iTunes to 7.4.2, and use the original version, but that only starts the process and I am left with the "Please Connect to iTunes" triangle. A quick launch of iNdependence seems to fix that and it goes back to the normal state.
Lastly, I have heard rumblings about going straight from 1.0.2 to 1.1.4 without virginizing, but there seems to be no consensus on that at this point.
The reason I am upgrading is because of 1.0.2's instability. I keep getting random crashes when I launch SMS or my iPod. I have restored in the past and that has fixed some issues, but these seem pretty persistent.
One other note, is that when I got the phone it was 1.0.0, and I foolishly ran AnySIM on that version. Clearly it didn't work, so I restored to 1.0.2 and then ran AnySIM and that seemed to work. I'm not sure if there are any long-term implications of running the old AnySIM on 1.0.0.
Any advice? Anyone have a similar experience and solve it? Thus far the iNdependence wiki has a few people with this problem, but no solution.
Thanks

if you did not jailbreak it, how could you have ran anySIM ??

If you are running 1.0.2 and the phone is unlocked then most likely you need to revirgin/virginize that baseband first and go from there.

I had restored the phone since the initial unlock, and since I am happy with the stock application set I felt no need to jailbreak it after I activated it. I'm kicking myself now.

why ???
You can JB it again if you want to.
Since the bb is already unlocked, all you need to do is JB & activate it again, run installer, get the virginizer from i.unlock.no to revirgin the baseband. DFU restore to 1.1.4 and use iplus/iLiberty or Pwned as you see fit.
