Default [1.0.2][Error] BSD root error continues after DFU restore

    A little history:
I have an AnySIM unlocked 1.0.2 iPhone that I wanted to virginise before upgrading to 1.1.4 but my Installer.app program kept restarting on opening and so I tried to reinstall Installer.app by downloading and running the "All iTunes versions: Download v0.92" (http://iphone.nullriver.com/beta/). The installer stopped/freezed at "Stage 2: 4 Booting iPhone in recovery mode..." and resulted in the connect to iTunes screen.

    Now:
I followed the advise I got on the forum and successfully restored to 1.0.2. Then I tried to jailbreak and activate using iLiberty but it failed and my phone ended up in the BSD root error loop. I DFU restored to 1.0.2 but after DFU restore completes and it reboots the phone goes back to the BSD root error loop. Any ideas on how I can fix this?

I had the same situation , restoring to 1.0.2 kept me in bsd root endless cycle. The trick was to restore to 1.1.1(with newest iTunes).

    Hope it helps somebody!

Correct, you can virginize at 1.0.2 or at 1.1.1. If you keep hanging at 1.0.2. Procede as in the above link (post #33), restore to 1.1.1 then. Try to get Installer app on 1.1.1 with iLiberty.

    hope that helps
